Certificate II in Agriculture - FIRST YEAR (Partial Completion)

If you want to grow your practical skills, agriculture and agribusiness are diverse sectors that are immensely important to both our local region and country. It’s an exciting time to be entering the industry with constant growth in new systems and technologies. Gain a range of basic skills required to work on a farm including working with livestock, farm work, environmental sustainability, chemical usage and farm maintenance.

Course in Transition
This qualification is superseded and course updates are occurring.
To ensure course content is relevant and industry-specific, industry is constantly having input into this training package. The course code, title, units, and content may change in the future and you may be enrolled in the new qualification. Further information will be provided on our website, upon enrolment and/or during the course of your training.
 

Duration

33 weeks plus holiday block training

Schedule

One afternoon block of delivery each week, plus holiday block training during term 2 school holidays period.

Prerequisites

Students must provide a USI at the point of enrolment

What you learn

Experience in working with livestock, farm work, chemical usage and gain the basic skills to working on a farm and in the agriculture industry.

Materials to bring

Materials that are to be brought ot class are to be purchased from the Campions Bookstore.

Dress code

Solid enclosed footwear- NOT runners
Cotton clothing - NOT tracksuit pants/NO nylon
Long pants - Jeans are ideal but they MUST NOT have frayed edges
Long sleeve shirt or top

Contribution to the VCE

The Certificate II in Agriculture is a non-scored program.  VCE students will receive a unit 1-4 over two years.  

VCE VM students will complete a minimum of 180 nominal hours a year to obtain their senior secondary certificate.
