How to apply
Step 1: Look at your options
Start by talking with your school’s VET DSS Coordinator and your parents/guardians. Discuss your interests, career goals, and the programs available at SWTAFE to find the one that best suits you. This is a great time to consider how a VET course fits in with your VCE or VCE VM studies.
Step 2: Apply online
Once you’ve decided on a program, complete a short online application form. This lets us know which course you’re interested in and starts your application process with SWTAFE.
Step 3: Complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment online
All applicants are required to complete an online LLN assessment. This helps ensure you have the foundational skills needed to succeed in your chosen course and lets us identify any extra support you may need.
Step 4: Chat to our team
A SWTAFE teacher or course specialist will get in touch to discuss the course in more detail. This is your chance to ask questions, get to know what the course involves, and make sure the units selected align with your study plan and career interests.
Step 5: Enrol
Once your school has approved your application, you’ll be officially enrolled in your VET DSS qualification at SWTAFE. You’ll receive further information about when and where your classes take place and how to get started.
