Certificate II in Electrotechnology (partial completion) - FIRST YEAR

If electrical systems ignite your passion, power up with skills across a range of sectors, including electrical, electrotechnology and refrigeration. Learn the skills and knowledge to enhance your employment prospects in a range of industries. You will learn how to use tools, electrical wiring and equipment of the trade. Access new technologies as they’re introduced in energy efficiency and sustainability. 

Students must be in Year 11 to commece this VET DSS program.

Duration

33 weeks plus holiday block

Schedule

One afternoon block of delivery each week, plus holiday block training during term 2 school holidays period.

Prerequisites

All students must provide a USI number at the point of enrolment.

Dress code

Solid enclosed footwear - NOT runners (Steel capped work boots are best)
Cotton clothing - NOT tracksuit pants / NO nylon
Long pants - Jeans are ideal but they MUST NOT have frayed edges
Long sleeved shirt or top

Industry involvement

There is a strong industry involvement focus. Students are required to perform a work placement in the community services sector.

Contribution to the VCE

VCE VET Electrical Industry provides a Unit 1-4 sequence for satisfactory completion purposes. Students undertaking the program are eligible for credit of up to five VCE VET units on their VCE Statement of Results: three units at Unit 1-2 level and two at Unit 3-4 sequence. Students may accumulate VCE VET units over more than one year.

VCE VM students will complete a minimum of 180 nominal hours a year to obtain their senior secondary certificate.
